James Manning

James is pictured with Josh Martin, Vice President, and Toni Ruggiero, Marketing Coordinator, of the Wamego KVSB branch. Also pictured is Anna Jilka, DSA winner for Rock Creek High School. Picture courtesy of the Wamego Times.

James is the son of Bertra and Patrick Manning. He is described as a student who works hard at all he attempts, and works each project through to completion, no matter what. He has not only volunteered countless hours of service, but he has also taught others about leadership and the importance of service.

James was recently involved in the flag retirement project over the 4th of July. James and his Boy Scout troupe along with other Wamego Cub Scouts and Boy Scout Troupes gathered 300 flags that needed to be properly retired. 60 hours of service was given to accomplish this project. This task not only was proof that James is a proud American citizen; it shows his respect for our country and national symbol.

James has also contributed countless hours to the Flint Hills Breadbasket, Tornado Victims cleanup efforts, the Kansas Shrine Bowl, City of Belvue, Tuttle Creek Lake, and Kansas Museum of History. He was also a delegate to American Legion Boys State, where he as elected a Senator.
