MORTGAGE DEPARTMENT HONORED

The Kaw Valley State Bank of Wamego was recently honored during the USDA Homeownership Success Tour luncheon held in conjunction with National Homeownership Month.  Recognized as an “Outstanding USDA Partner”, the Kaw Valley State Bank mortgage loan department was noted as being the 3rd largest bank in their service area and the 11th largest bank for Rural Development loans in the state.

"By expanding housing related partnerships, ranging from builders to lenders, to interested community leaders, Kansas can continue to improve affordable housing opportunities and support needed economic development,” commented USDA Rural Development State Director Chuck Banks.

USDA Rural Development in Kansas assists over 8000 residents annually to secure individual homeownership or
                                                                             multi-family housing residency.

Kaw Valley State Bank Assistant VP Susan Burgess added, “Our mortgage loan department began in 1983 and has always strived to provide the best service and lending options to our neighbors in Wamego, the surrounding communities, and across the state. The USDA Rural Development Loan has been instrumental in helping us maintain those standards.
