Jones featured artist at Kaw Valley State Bank

The Kaw Valley State Bank would like to welcome our newest Columbian Artist, James S Jones, professor with the KSU Department of Architecture.

Jones’ series, “Shades and Shadows”, focuses on the qualities of light and materials in and around windows, from the inside and out.  The paintings range from controlled, masked washes to free-painted washes and detail.  Each involves many layers of color and a highly structured sequence of applying the pigments.

While his work has exhibited all around the country, as well as in Canada, England, and Italy, Jones’ collections can be seen locally through the Strecker-Nelson gallery in Manhattan.  The Kaw Valley State Bank exhibit is free to the public and available during lobby hours until the end of March, 2007.
